  • Recent upgrades to ICL include:

    1. Ability to download records into personal bibliographic software:
Users can now download individual or multiple records using the PubMed filter in their software. We have tested this feature in several programs and it works beautifully. This will vastly increase the value of ICL to researchers.

    2. Live links in e-mailed records:
We implemented the e-mail feature in 2006, but have improved it by offering users live links from their e-mails. Up to now, e-mails contained only text records, not live links.

    3. Display multiple full records:
Up to now, the display has been of bibliographic records only. Now, users may choose multiple records and display them. They may also e-mail full records rather than just citations.

    4. Live links for authors, subjects and journal titles:
Full records now display links to authors and subjects, a feature that most databases offer. With a click, users can pull up all the records for an author or subject. Links to journals take users to the journal descriptions in "Journals Indexed".

    5. Order of authors:
From now on, authors will be displayed in the order in which they are entered, rather than alphabetically. First authors will now appear first, and so on.

    6. Display of elements in the citation:
We have changed this to conform to common practice.

    7. Sort order of subject headings:
We had the programmers add extra spaces before and after the slash in subject headings with subheadings, which makes the display in the subject index clearer for users.
