Title Understanding sports massage, 2nd. ed., by Patricia J. Benjamin and Scott P. Lamp [book review
Journal JACA Online. 2005 Apr;42(3):Online access only p 18
Peer Review No
Publication Type Book Review
Abstract/Notes This text is divided into 7 chapters, beginning with the Theory and Science of Sports Massage. In the preface, the authors state that, "It enriches conditioning programs, helps athletes prepare for and recover from competition, reduces the potential for injuries, and aids in injury rehabilitation. Ultimately, sports massage enhances performance." A statement such as this seemed excessive, particularly since I saw no substantiating references to back up such a claim..
