Abstract/Notes Excerpt: The book “ABC of Headache” by Anne MacGregor and Alison Frith is excellent at providing students and practitioners with an evidence based review of headaches in a practical format. The text begins with a concise overview of how to approach a patient presenting with a headache. The authors review some of the key patient history questions and specific tests to perform when conducting a physical examination. Also highlighted are special investigations which may be considered when assessing the headache patient. The subsequent chapters are designed to take the reader through a series of cases to review several different types of headache and the appropriate management of each.
