In 1987, David Graston suffered a multiple-ligament injury in an accident. When traditional rehabilitation techniques failed to help, he created the prototypes of the Graston Technique® instruments. Since then, various instruments designed for use on soft-tissue injury have come on the market. Stephen Perle, DC, MS, FICC, looks at the place of IASTM in the hand-oriented chiropractic profession.
