The contributions of W.A. Budden toward the advancement of the chiropractic profession through reform movements for higher educational standards and through political representation on legislative issues are presented. As president of Western States Chiropractic College, Dr. Budden worked tirelessly for nearly a quarter of a century to raise the standards of chiropractic education in Oregon, carrying these ideas to the national level through the Council on Education of the National Chiropractic Association. Serving as president of the National Council on Public Health of the NCA he was a prolific writer on the topic of health care. Dr. Budden is remembered for his outstanding service in the field of chiropractic education and his unswerving devotion to the advancement of the chiropractic profession.
