Abstract/Notes

This article reveals the ruse Valdeenia "Lillard" Simons presented when claiming she was the daughter of Harvey Lillard, the first chiropractic patient of D.D. Palmer.  Valdeenia was a celebrity in the chiropractic field from the early 1980s until her death in 1990.  Details of her true lineage and the fabricated details of Lillard's interactions with D.D. Palmer are discussed with an emphasis on the impact on the personas of Lillard, D.D. Palmer, and chiropractic history.
