| Abstract/Notes |
Since the 1960's, dietary fiber has been increasingly researched, and many observations have been made regarding the health benefits of consuming proper amounts of dietary fiber. British physicians Peter Cleave, G.D. Campbell, Dennis Burkitt, and Hugh Trowell were instrumental in associating diets low in fiber to bowel cancer, diverticulosis, obesity, congestive heart disease, appendicitis and other health conditions.
