Abstract/Notes

This paper was developed in 1981 as part of a requirement in the graduate program in medical sociology at the University of Pennsylvania.  It has since been updated with new materials and references in placing a contemporary conclusion toward the 90-year old struggle of chiropractic and its advocates with the dominant allopathic school.  This study traces changes in “official” and unofficial attitudes toward chiropractors in their efforts to secure a role in health care delivery.
