Abstract/Notes Temple describes the coincident development of aviation and chiropractic. Congress authorized a chiropractic demonstration project in 1985, but reluctance among military authorities to embrace chiropractic continued. Subsequently, the National Defense Act of 1993 enabled chiropractic to evolve into an integral part of the Military Health System. In 2001, chiropractic became an official part of the Armed Services' health benefits.
