Objective: To provide chiropractic care for the symptomatic relief of pain associated with myositis ossificans traumatica.
Clinical Features: A 13-year-old male rugby player presented with left thigh pain, limited mobility, interference with sleep, and inability to train. Heterotopic ossification (HO) was noted on x-ray.
Intervention: Proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation, soft-tissue technique, home exercises, and swimming.
Outcome: There was a significant reduction in pain after the first visit. After 2 weeks, pain was gone and range of motion was normal. Normal training was resumed in 1 month.
