| Abstract/Notes |
The December 2012 issue of Topics in Integrative Health Care presents articles of interest to clinicians, particularly complementary and alternative health care providers. TIHC Associate Editor, Daniel Redwood, DC, contributes an interesting interview with Alan R. Post, DC, who discusses the integrative medicine pilot program currently underway with Rhode Island Medicaid, which primarily serves low income people in the state. Associate Editor, Dana Lawrence, MMedEd, MA, contributes a thought-provoking commentary about the ethical issues related to anti-vaccination attitudes held by a certain fraction of the chiropractic profession. Jay Greenstein, DC, and his multidisciplinary team present research on the sleep habits and other characteristics of patients with whiplash-associated disorders (WAD). John Hart, DC, MHSc, presents a study assessing resting pulse rate in a sample of chiropractic students receiving regular chiropractic care. Jenny Yu, MAOM, and Anupama Kizhakkeveettil, MAOM, contribute a case report describing the use of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) for the management of atopic dermatitis in a six-month-old boy. Finally, Gregory Baker, DC, and colleagues from the Council on Chiropractic Guidelines and Practice Parameters contribute a clinical brief presenting algorithms for the chiropractic management of spine-related pain.
