The size, shape and position of the support, which would have to cater for the large variety of profiles presented by the travelling public, was more difficult to answer. Standard anthropometric texts such as Damon, Stoudt & McFarland’s work are so general that they give height and weight variability, but nothing on profiles.
In an attempt to remedy the situation, the author undertook to trace the profiles of 100 patients passing through his chiropractic clinic. The profiles obtained were of the head and neck, of the patient seated in the APT seat (without the headrest ) in three attitudes
