Abstract/Notes

Daniel David Palmer, the founder of the chiropratic profession, claimed that he learned the principles of chiropractic from a Jim Atkinson.  Stating this on several occasions in his voluminous writings, his statements amount only to a few paragraphs.  Out of this small amount of information, chiropractic historians have attempted to identify who Jim Atkinson was, and we can only speculate according to the material and clues that Palmer left us.
