Abstract/Notes

Dr Edward W. Lynch of Minnesota has remained an obscure footnote in the history of the chiropractic profession.  Many of the early lineages from chiropractic's formation have been fully established and investigated. The line that brings us to Dr. E.W. Lynch and who he influenced is less well founded.  His engagement in the chiropractic profession stems from his mentor Dr. D.W. Reisland, who learned from Dr. Thomas Storey, who studied under the profession's founder, D.D. Palmer. Lynch influenced several notable early chiropractors and was a key factor in the development of the Marsh School and Cure in 1904 in Portland, Ore., a plausible forerunner to today's Doctor of Chiropractic program at the University of Western States.
