Abstract/Notes

In part VI of this series I ended with a discussion of the hypothesis by Oxenkrug that, when chronic inflammation combines with vitamin B6 deficiency, disturbances in kynurenine metabolism can ensure which can not only contribute to depression but type 2 diabetes. Does the author provide any clinical research to back up this hypothesis? This evidence is provided in the paper "Increased plasma levels of xanthurenic and kynurenic acids in type 2 diabetes" by Oxenkrug.
