Abstract/Notes

Objective: To describe the positive health outcomes following chiropractic care of a patient with chronic migraines, neck pain and low back pain.

Clinical Features: A 23-year-old female presented with a chief complaint of chronic migraines of ten years duration, neck pain and low back pain. Medical care consisted of prescription medication (i.e., Fluoxetine, Synthroid and Fioricet) that was essentially ineffective.

Intervention and Outcome: The patient was cared for with combinatory spinal care consisting of Diversified Technique and Thompson Technique for the lumbopelvis and spine and with Grostic Technique for the upper cervical spine. Following a course of care, comparative Neck Bournemouth scoring was a 13/70 from baseline 42/70 and her Headache Disability Index scores dropped to 28/100 from a previous scoring of 70/100.

Conclusion: The case report provides supporting evidence that individuals suffering from headaches may benefit from chiropractic care.
