Objective: This study aims to present the observed enhancements in a 5-year-old female patient with enlarged tonsils who underwent upper cervical chiropractic care.
Clinical Features: The pediatric patient has enlarged tonsils without pain or discomfort. A decreased range of motion was noted in multiple spine areas, edema, and hypertonicity of the surrounding soft tissues and musculature in the cervical spine. The patient’s mother wanted to try conservative care with an upper cervical chiropractor before considering surgery.
Interventions: Upper Cervical Chiropractic care was administered using the Orthospinology procedure, which involved identifying, analyzing the severity of, and addressing subluxations and segmental dysfunction in the upper cervical spine. When clinically indicated, an Arthrostim instrument adjusting tool delivered specific corrections to subluxations in the thoracic and lumbar spine regions.
Conclusion: This case study exemplifies the effective management of a pediatric patient experiencing tonsillitis, potentially linked to vertebral subluxation in the upper cervical spine. Further research in this area is highly encouraged.
