Abstract/Notes

Early clinical reports of vertigo and tinnitus and its association with the cervical spine can be found in various 19th century writings describing spinal irritation. During this time period, other than the writings of John Evans Riadore, no other clinicians used manipulation of the spine to treat this disorder, and it was not until the emergence of the osteopathic and chiropractic professions that manipulation was used routinely for this disorder.
