B.J. Palmer's former Sarasota, Florida, home was once a chiropractic historical landmark. It served as Palmer's winter retreat from 1949 until his death in 1961 and reflected his fascination with the Ringling Circus and Sarasota's lively culture. After changing hands several times, Life College acquired and restored the property in 1979, reopening it as a museum that preserved Palmer's furnishings, memorabilia, and legacy. Financial difficulties, zoning issues, and hurricane damage from Helene and Milton in 2024 ultimately led to its demise. The loss of the property highlights the fragility of historic preservation and the fading of tanigible chiropractic heritage.
