| Abstract/Notes |
Magnetic resonance imaging is a new technology which enables clinicians to obtain clear images of the living human body without the use of ionizing radiation. This paper reviews the MR manifestations of subluxation degeneration in the spine. The scientific literature supports the use of MR in imaging to detect and characterize the following: subluxation, disc disease, osteophytosis, ligamentum flava pathology, spinal canal stenosis, foramina/ stenosis, facet asymmetry, facet degeneration, altered CSF flow dynamics, cord compression, gliosis, myelomalacia, and spinal cord atrophy.
Author Keywords: Cervical vertebrae, lumbar vertebrae, spine, spinal cord, intervertebral disc, subluxation, magnetic resonance imaging, osteoarthritis.
