Abstract/Notes | The present paper explores the reasons for the rise of the evidence-based healthcare movement. It presents one definition of the phrase 'evidence-based healthcare', discusses what it is and what it is not, and considers the new reasons why it is both easier and more important to practise evidence-based healthcare than ever before. Finally, this paper considers some of the practical implications of practising evidence-based healthcare for both individuals and healthcare institutions.
