Abstract/Notes The concept of advanced practice has been given little consideration in the chiropractic profession, although it has been considered more closely in other health care professions, such as nursing and pharmacy. In modernising health care systems, advanced practice is evolving as an important activity in the maintenance and improvement of clinical practice, be it in large health care settings or in small private practices. This paper explores the concept of advanced practice and highlights the potential role it may have in chiropractic practice, along with its potential to advance the chiropractic profession.
