Abstract/Notes Impingement syndrome of the shoulder is very common. Studies show that conservative care for managing shoulder impingement using physical therapy, rehabilitation strengthening and stretching exercises, joint-mobilization techniques, and soft-tissue techniques can be effective. Rehabilitation and treatment of shoulder impingement, however, should not be limited to focusing on strengthening the weakened muscle and correcting the biomechanics of the joints. Soft-tissue rehabilitation procedures encompassing the correction of muscle patterns and proper movement input into the central nervous system should also be emphasized. The Trigenics manual soft-tissue procedure offers a valuable tool to address different aspects of soft-tissue rehabilitation for this condition.
