Abstract/Notes A recent article by Cagnie et al. in the journal Surgical and Radiologic Anatomy suggests that atherosclerosis in the vertebral artery (VA) is a risk factor in the use of cervical spine manipulation (CSM). The article proposed several bizarre conclusions, given the existing evidence on the relationship between CSM and vertebrobasilar complications.
