Abstract/Notes

Foley's robust examination of D.D. Palmer's posthumous book, The Chiropractor, along with period materials recently uncovered demonstrate high probability that D.D. was not only the author of The Chiropractor but had been developing its content several years before print. Quiestions about the book's most controversial lecture "The Moral and Religious Duty of a Chiropractor" remained, namely the existence of earlier drafts of this lecture before its being published in 1914, and what was its intent? Recently a new piece of evidence has been found that will provide an explanation to both these questions. This article will examine this early draft and some other newly found pieces to offer new insights into Palmer's questionable religion of chiropractic.
